We’re excited to share some news: Scotch Accounting has joined Practice, bringing Patrick Scotchmer and his team into the Practice family.

Over the years, we’ve been lucky to work alongside our friends at Scotch Accounting (Scotch) - another firm with deep roots in the creative industries and a shared passion for helping creative businesses grow.

From 30th October 2025, we’ll operate together under the Practice brand - combining two firms who share the same values, approach, and creative focus.

This isn’t a big change in how we work, but it is a big step forward in what we can do together.

WHY WE'RE COMING TOGETHER

Practice and Scotch have worked in parallel for years - two independent firms with similar roots, each helping creative businesses build solid, sustainable financial foundations.

Over time, it’s become clear that joining forces simply makes sense. We share the same ethos: practical advice, clear communication, and long-term relationships.

By merging, we’re creating a stronger platform for our clients and our team - with deeper expertise, broader support, and greater continuity across everything from bookkeeping and payroll to strategic advisory work.

Patrick and Nick go way back - they qualified together at KPMG 20 years ago - and for some clients there’ll be no need for introduction as they’ve collaborated on various projects since.

Together they bring deep care and experience in working with creative businesses, strengthening Practice’s ability to deliver even greater stability, insight, and support for clients.

WHAT THIS MEANS FOR YOU

For clients of both firms, things will feel reassuringly familiar. Your usual contacts and ways of working won’t change. Our standards, systems, and ethos remain the same.

Over time you’ll gain access to even more expertise, with a larger, combined team behind the scenes.

We’ll be gradually introducing the Scotch team into Practice communications and systems, and you’ll start to see the Practice name appear in all correspondence from November onward.

What’s changing?

From 30th October 2025, Scotch Accounting Ltd and Practice London Limited have formally merged. There’s no change at all for Practice clients, and for Scotch clients we’ll be in touch to move your engagement letter across to Practice over the next few weeks.

Will my current team or main contact change?

No - there’s no change. You’ll continue to work with the same people you already know. Over time, you’ll also get to know more of the Practice team.

I’m an existing Practice client — does this change anything for me?

If you’re already a Practice client, everything carries on exactly as before — same people, same systems, same care. Over time, we’ll introduce you to Patrick - and in the long-run you’ll benefit from a stronger, more sustainable Practice.

I’m an existing Scotch client — what happens next?

In November we’ll be re-engaging you on your existing services and terms, but through Practice London Limited. We’ll be in touch directly to make this transition as smooth as possible.

Why merge?

This merger is about long-term sustainability. Patrick and Nick have worked together for years and share the same commitment to supporting creative businesses. Joining forces strengthens our offering and gives clients even more continuity and expertise.

What happens to Scotch Accounting Ltd?

Over the next few months, the Scotch brand will be retired as part of the transition, and all client work will move under the Practice brand.
